Speed Demon- 4078 Complete

The Decision-Speed was his goal, and physical prowess was everything. Zen took physical ability very seroiusly, maybe more seriously than other ninja skills. After all, it was the skill that had almost killed him when he was younger. -Flashback-One day, on a mission, he was teamed up with two other chuunin and a jounin on a mission to take out a camp of rogue ninja. When his team decided to rest the night before, be snuck off and attempted to defeat the group himself, believing that when they were sleeping was the best time to attack. What he did not know was that the shinobi had already known them to be following them, and set up the same plan for attack as he did. So on the way to their camp, they bump into eachother, and he was ambushed. Like his team, it was three chuunin and a jounin level ninja...At least thats what their vests let him know. Zen immediatley realized that they must have been a team from whatever village they had come from. The sensei ordered one of the three chuunin to stay and deal with him while the rest killed his team. He should have been alarmed, but instead he was elated, for he had gotten another stepping stone in his ascension to greatness.
It didn't take Zen long to realize that he was out of his league. The battle was a long and difficult one, and this chuunin was on a jounin level when it came to his taijutsu skills. Her strength was overbearing, and her speed was impossible to keep up with. Zen used his katon and doton style techniques to hold his own against the girl, but his attempts at a hit seemed pointless. It was safe to say that this girl was more of an Anbu nin than anything. Zen was knocked back as he blocked a powerful kick from his opponent. Looking up, he saw the face of his attacker. And the girl was smiling. It was a smile that hadn't left his fave since the beginning of their battle. Thats when Zen realized it. He was being toyed with. His breaths were short and shallow as the girls were calm and slow. Sweat dripped from his face while the girl barely had dampened clothes. And that smile. It was a taunting smile that made Zen want to destroy him, despite the difference in power. Zen was being toyed with. And it was not a feeling he ever had before. For once in his life, he felt powerless. -Flashback End-

Zen never wanted to feel that way again. So since then, he had trained so that he would be second to none when it came to physical shape. This is what led him to his decision. His first Path will have enough raw speed and power to take on the best of them. He wanted to push his physical prowess to the absolute limit, allowing for tremendous raw speed and monstrous power. That is why his Path would be a master of taijutsu.

Hitting the Books-Zen sat to himself as he read the details of the skills he wanted.
Lightning Release Armor-The user wraps their body in a layer of lightning chakra that, instead of being used offensively, is used to electrically stimulate the user's nervous system. The technique speeds up neural synapses to react faster to danger and to push physical prowess to the absolute limit, allowing for tremendous raw speed and monstrous power.
This armour, combined with taijutsu, allows the user to utilise nintaijutsu. The armour also increases the user's defences, drastically reducing, if not completely negating, damage from incoming attacks.
Elbow-After covering yourself in his Lightning Release Armour, the user thrusts his elbow at his opponent with extreme force. The technique is strong enough to send someone crashing into a wall, disabling him from battling any further.
Guillotine Drop-After covering himself in his Lightning Release Armour, the jumps into the air and performs a downward kick taking advantage of his speed on his opponent.
Liger Bomb-After covering himself in his Lightning Release Armour, the user grabs his opponent and lifts them high up into the air. Then, using his extreme strength, he smashes them head first onto the ground in what resembles a powerbomb manoeuvre. This is devastating enough to shatter a large area of the ground itself on impact. This attack is very difficult to survive once caught. The impact of this technique was strong enough to snap Susanoo's ribs.
Lightning Oppression Horizontal-After covering himself in his Lightning Release Armour, the user performs a simple backhanded horizontal chop against his opponent, which is powerful enough to snap even the bones of Susanoo's ribcage.
Lightning Oppression Horizontal Chop-While covered in the Lightning Release Armour, the user performs a simple yet powerful horizontal chop on his opponent from above, seemingly using the momentum gained in the previous fall to increase the force behind his strike.
Lariat- The user surrounds himself with his Lightning Release Armour, and charges at his opponent, striking them with a Lariat move, which can be coated in chakra. A successful strike can blow away a target's entire chest with a direct hit. The attack is rather straightforward, but very quick and powerful.
These were the skills that Zen went over in his head as he made it over to the training grounds. Intellectually, he was ready. Now all he had to do was get ready physically.

Training my Skill-Zen made it to the training grounds and created a clone. To him, some of the best training was training done by yourself. No one knew his moves better than he did, so he could be seen training for this a lot. Both Zen and the clone got into their fighting stance. Surrounding himself with lightning, he felt the flow of chakra fill him. His clone attacked. Zen's fist held upright, erect with intensity that was almost visible, or was it anticipation? Surely it was so. He had been wanting to learn this technique since he had first read about it. Since then, he couldn't take his mind off of the powerful moves. Not to mention that it was very difficult to learn. Zen wanted to prove he could do it, not for others but for himself. He had to be strong enough to run his village. He had to be strong enough to make his Path.

The clone was holding an oh too familiar stance stance. He held the stance of the strong fist, his confidence was unwavering.

Almost caught up in his daydreaming, Zen barely avoided his clone's charging attack. Yet he didn't go entirely unscathed. The clone's punch would have been powerful had it connected, but he managed to avoid taking any damage. However, as he leaped back to avoid a further barrage from the clone, he realized the clone had torn his shirt. Zen's lithe, muscular chest and arms gleamed in the passive light of the training grounds. The clone pumped his arms, eagerly awaiting his second strike at the now bare-chested hokage. Even if he couldn't strike his opponent's flesh, he would remove a lot more than his shirt this time. He dash towards Zen, he then started to dash around him forming a circle. It was an odd thing to do, and Zen felt that something was wrong. He then noticed that the clone was looking for an opening. He smirked. That was exactly what he was going to give him. Getting out of his stance, he waited for the clone to attack. The dopple ganger did just that, and was shocked by his armor. It tried to jump back but it was to late. Zen's lightning flow had dramatically increased it not only hit the clone but proceeded to taking out double the space that it already had. The clone was sent flying threw the forest and in to a tree. Zen jumped on to a tree and came down with a knee that had almost connected with the clone. But before he could connect, the clone rolled out of the way and got to his feet. They both stood there, with the same look of determination in their eyes. They both waited for the first move. Zen couldn't wait any longer. It was his turn to start. So it began….

Zen dashed out towards his clone, who had already gotten into his defensive stance. Zen threw a few shurikens at the clone, and then he disappeared the instance after he threw them. The clone quickly avoided them. Zen then came out of know where and kicked the clone in the face. The clone slammed right into a tree with blood already on his face. Most clones would have dispersed, but this one had recieved a bit more chakra to be the special case. The clone paused for a moment and then had a grin on his face.

The instance Zen noticed the grin he punched the clone in the gut. It fell to the ground by the same tree he slammed into earlier. Still, it had a strange grin on his face. What's going on? Zen thought. Every time I hit him he just grins. He's not even trying!' he continued to think with great confusion. He again grabbed the clone but this time with even more force and held him up against the tree. Thats when he realized that the clone had been knocked out of commision. He smirked as he dispersed it. Right before making another.

Zen just stared at his opponent. It was an annoying situation, but it had to be done. He was currently filled with this awesome ability, but no one was there to see it. No one actually knew he was there, he was shrouded completely in darkness, even his hage robes didn't stand out in the night. So now he stood before the greatest ninja in the village for 'testing' a ninja's strength. This man could match anyone in the village move for move, or simply take them down in just a few Jutsu. He was staring at himself. The clone just stood there, waiting for Zen to make a move. Zen was probably more awake than ever, contemplating his first move. Any jutsu he used would be countered unless it was powerful enough, but he didn't want to destroy the grounds. He would think about that later, for now he still had a few tricks up his sleeve. He shot forward, his right hand coming up palm first. With his left he pulled a string, loosening a spring and letting loose a Kunai faster than most people could even throw them. The clone blocked it with his own kunai, almost wincing at the force of it. But the kunai served its purpose.

The clone barely noticed the wire that attached to it before he jumped to avoid it wrapping around his legs. Zen caught the knife as it was pulled toward him as he sprinted at the clone, funneling a small amount of lighting element into it and hoping to catch him unready. He slashed at him, only to be blocked by another Kunai.

The clone felt the steady stream of electricity as it flowed into his body. He punched with his left, only to be blocked, but it served to funnel the electricity back into its creator. It was a standstill now, Zen slowly increasing the voltage to see who could last the longest. A minute passes, and Zen finally relents by stumbling back. He should have known, his clone was made to take more than that, only cloud ninjas could outlast him in that sort of competition.
Zen threw a kick balancing on one hand, and immediately regretted it. Though it was dodged his opponent probably saw one of his tricks on the soles of his ninja sandals. Zen let the inertia of his kick bring him back to his feet, and could see the clone charging him again but allowed himself to turn around to pick something off the ground. When he spun around to face the clone again he whipped the small rock at his torso, it was nearly point blank so he was confident of a hit.

He was disappointed as it was caught in midair, the clone's eyes tracking it effortlessly. He wasn't holding back now. Zen jumped back, and was rewarded with a grand fireball. He stuck one of his his feet at the approaching fire blaze and made a single seal, unleashing a massive torrent of wind out of the little paper stuck there that not only put out the fire put propelled him to one of the walls. Even before he stuck to the wall, he could tell the clone was nowhere to be seen.

Underground then. "Raiton bunshin," Zen called out. Five duplicates poofed into existence, already running down the wall even as they were created. Once they reached the ground one of the copies jumped into the air, avoiding a hand that appeared from the ground. The rest of the body emerged, knowing full well his basic earth entrapment jutsu weren't going to work after that display. The bunshins quickly surrounded him, trying to land a hit.

As the clone fought with them he was impressed, it was tough to get Kage Bunshins to fight so well. He finally dispersed one of them, and then dispersed the others by a small fire steam jutsu. One was quick enough dodge and continued on. At that moment, another hand shot up from the earth, holding him in place. The bunshin expected to be dispersed by fire but was surprised as he was simply disabled, and gently pushed onto the ground. Zen put his hand onto the mask, fully intending on taking it off.

As he lifted the mask off, he looked up to the original still on the wall, and was amused when he spotted a kunai whizzing down to them. His eyes tracked its course to the head of his prisoner, without actually looking at the mask less face. He let it come, allowing his opponent to kill his own clone. He got up, dusting himself off. Then he yelled up to him after he didn't move. The clone simply backed up so he was in the center of the arena.

Zen almost sweat dropped off the wall. He was definitely living up to his purpose of his. He launched off the wall after making a few more clones to observe from above, and headed straight for the center. He made a few seals. Lighning formed around him.

The clone ascended to Zen's approximate elevation. He might not be as sure stepped as the other guy, but his natural ninja reflexes were all he needed.Zen readied himself in a fighting position, each foot standing on a kunai. "I'm coming," he simply stated. At that moment, the clone realized it was a lot safer for the person on the offensive. Being defensive meant you had to back up, and that was dangerous if you couldn't see where you were going to land. The clone blocked a swipe with his own kunai, unmoving. This made Zen drop to a lower level, being force to put his gaze on his landing area instead of the clone. The clone quickly rose to a higher level, wanting a better position to defend against an ascending opponent.

He quickly realized that there were no good positions. It was all completely random. He might have a good foot hold on one spot, but then two feet away there could be a short sword ready to poke you in the torso. He looked at his opponent's position.

Zen took a long way up, deciding it was safer to get higher without being near the clone. When he ascended to the correct height he made his way over with impressive balance. The new position did happen to have more foot holds than the other spot, though they weren't all at the same height.Zen and his clone traded more swipes with there kunai, making sure to hit something with each attack. Missing could throw off more balance and knock themselves off.

The clone blocked another slash, then grabbed a hilt of a sickle above him and kicked out. Zen spun when he was hit, pushing himself over another blade and grabbing the loop of a kunai that was pointed straight up. He swung over and landed back to a stable position. The memories kept replaying in his head as he fought. And with the absence of confidence, a hidden power awakened within him. He slowly stood as he opened his eyes wide, the power they held flowed through his body like a wave of strength. He would wipe the smirk off that boys face. His red rinnegan glowed bright. He was not the only one to notice this. His opponent felt a sudden change of atmosphere, and his anxiousness led him to try and finish the fight quickly. Shooting towards Zen, he aimed a sharp punch at the boy's temple. But it was different this time. Zen could see it coming. Reaching his hand up, he caught the boys punch, stopping him in his tracks. Using his free hand, he sent a lightning coated punch to the boys abdomen, rendering him unconcious. But he did not want to stop there.

Pulling out a kunai, he held it high before plunging it into the boys heart. "Now I'm the one smiling," he said as he picked the lifeless body up over his shoulder. He would keep it as a souvenier for the time he almost lost. His victory was followed by the slaughter of the rest of the rogue ninja. His temporary team was happy, for he had just come in time. The were also on the verge of defeat, and his power was their saviors. Completing the mission, he did not think of the eyes as the end of his search for power. They were instead a door to find more power, and that was exactly what he did. That day, he was not just Zen Uzumaki. The Red Sage was born.

This continued for a few minutes, neither gaining the advantage over the other. They were already sweating because of much more difficult this new terrain was to maneuver around, what with all the lifting and jumping.

The clone was tiring now. He would need to quit soon before his tired body started making mistakes. Zen grabbed a nearby kunai, and threw it at the clone's feet. He saw it coming but didn't bother moving, his intelligent mind calculating the trajectory to stop about 6 inches in front of his right foot. That is enought, he said as he dispelled the clones. He was ready for the next step.

Retreiving the Body-The body was one that Zen was very familiar with. It was the body of someone he hated, but at the same time, someone he respected. If not for this man, Zen probably would have never awaoken his doujutsu. -Flash back-One day, on a mission, he was teamed up with two other chuunin and a jounin on a mission to take out a camp of rogue ninja. Since then, he had kept the man frozen in a secret chamber. He didn't know why he was doing it at first, he just guessed that he was sick hearted, and he was okay with that. But as he grew older, and learned more about his abilities, he had finally found a use for the man. The only man who had almost defeated him would now become his first path. His abilities gave Zen the idea for this path, and now he would live as what Zen saw him as all these years.

The chamber was not far away, so the hokage took a casual walk there. When he arrived, he opened the seal. The whole place smelled of death, but maybe that was because there had actually been a dead man in there for so long. Walking to the freezer, he opened it up, and there was the man. He looked good for a dead person, but sick for someone who still had life. The way he was kept was based solely on the efforts of Zen. The man knew he would be using his body, and wanted to be kept in the best shape possible. Summoning two clones, he ordered them to take the man and lay him on a nerby table. It was time for him to make the transition from a dead man to a Path.
